The Hanseatic coat of arms of Kuldiga is centered, flanked by Gothic ornaments and an ethnographic cours motif. "GOLDINGEN" arcs above it, and "1 LATS" below, with the year 2002 inscribed beneath the shield.
The waterfall "Ventas rumba" divides the coin. The upper part depicts Kuldīga's landscape under the inscription KULDĪGA, while the lower part features reflections of Hanseatic ships. The semicircular inscription HANZAS PILSĒTA (Hanseatic city) is below.
