1000 Tenge – Kazakhstan

The obverse features the winged horse protoma from the kulah-khood headdress. Below is the denomination "1000 ТЕҢГЕ" and the year "2001". Around the edge are inscriptions: "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" and "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN", separated at the top by decorative plates from the headdress.

The reverse features the "Golden Man" and his ornaments. Enlarged decorative pads from his caftan and boots are on the left, with circular leopard-shaped overlays on the right. The top bears the Kazakhstan Mint mark, "АЛТЫН АДАМ" and "GOLDEN MAN" inscriptions, and "7.78 gr." The bottom shows "· Au 999 ·" for the metal and its fineness.
