20 Hryven – Ukraine

A fragment of the 11th-century 'Holy Teklya' fresco is within a stylized vegetal circle. Above it is the small National Emblem of Ukraine. The circumferential inscription reads УКРАЇНА and ГРИВЕНЬ. Below is the year 1997, the face value 20 ГРИВЕНЬ, and the specifications Аg 925 and 31,1.

The coin's center shows the Savior Cathedral's western facade. Around the edge are inscriptions: ЧЕРНІГІВ (Chernihiv) on the left, СПАСЬКИЙ СОБОР above, and ХI ст (11th c.) on the right, separated by solar signs. Below, a ribbon reads: ДУХОВНІ СКАРБИ УКРАЇНИ (Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine).
