20 Hryven (Tithe Church) – Ukraine

Centered within a beaded border and framed by stylized plants is a bas-relief of the Hodigitria Mother of God with child, preserved above a church portal. Above it is the State Emblem of Ukraine. Around the circumference are the inscriptions УКРАЇНА, 1996, and 20 ГРИВЕНЬ. Flanking the "20" are the marks Аg 925 and 31,1. The entire design is encircled by a beaded border.

The Tithe Church's reconstructed contours, based on Professor J.S. Aseyev's work, are mirrored on a mat field, appearing to emerge from its real foundations. Around the coin's circumference on this field are the inscriptions: КИЇВ, ДЕСЯТИННА ЦЕРКВА, 996, separated by stylized birds. Below, on the glass, a ribbon reads: ДУХОВНІ СКАРБИ УКРАЇНИ.
