2 hryvni (Declaration of Independence of Ukrainian People's Republic) – Ukraine

The Small State Emblem of Ukraine is flanked by a worker and a peasant woman holding a child, symbolizing the young state. This adapted Heorhyi Narbut composition appears above "УКРАЇНА 1998" and below "2 ГРИВНІ".

The center depicts the Pedagogical Museum, the Central Rada's 1917-1918 headquarters, flanked by two rifle-bearing guards. Below is a four-line legend: "80 РОКІВ З ДНЯ ПРОГОЛОШЕННЯ НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ 1918." Above, encircling the design, is "УКРАЇНСЬКА НАРОДНА РЕСПУБЛІКА." All text uses the typeface designed by H. Narbut for Ukraine's first 1917-1920 banknotes.
