20 Hryven – Ukraine

Centered on the bead's circumference is the series' unifying national motif: the Small State Emblem of Ukraine flanked by the Holy Archistrategos Michael of Kyiv and the crowned lion of Lviv. This is encircled by stylized inscriptions—УКРАЇНА, 1998, 20 ГРИВЕНЬ—separated by baroque ornaments and griffins, along with the metal's symbol, fineness, and weight.

On a bead encircling an hourglass, symbolizing heredity, a Zaporizhzhian Cossack battles a Polish winged Reitar. Flanking them are Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky and a Bandura-playing Cossack bard. The conventionalized inscription reads: ВИЗВОЛЬНА ВІЙНА СЕРЕДИНИ ХVІІ СТ.
