The central coin face features Kazakhstan's coat of arms. The denomination "500 ТЕҢГЕ" is at the bottom. Along the rim are the inscriptions "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" and "РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН", flanked by national ornament. The National Bank logo is at the top.

The central coin design features a fragment of the 50-tenge banknote portrait of Abulkhair Khan. Encircling it are the state language inscription "ӘБІЛҚАЙЫР ХАН", the issue year "2016", and graphic elements from the banknote. The top bears the inscription "Au 999 7,78 g", indicating the metal, standard, and weight.
