Description:
The coin features Ukraine's coat of arms, "УКРАЇНА," the year 2017, and the denomination 5 hryvnias. The center depicts a gilt snake ring (2nd-3rd c. AD) from Tyras and a 12th-century double-sided medallion. Popular in Kyiv Rus as protective amulets, these medallions displayed a Christian motif on one side and Medusa's head on the other.
