The central coat of arms is flanked by national ornament. Circular inscriptions read "QAZAQSTAN RESPÝBLIKASY" and "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN". The National Bank logo is at the top, the denomination at the bottom.

The coin's center features a portrait of the poet-improviser Suyinbay, adapted from the 1993 3-tenge banknote. The issue year is on the left, with "СҮЙІНБАЙ" inscribed below.
