The Small State Emblem of Ukraine is centered, flanked by stylized laurel branches. Above is "УКРАЇНА" and below is the issue year "1996", with "Ag 925" and "31,1" on either side. The circumferential inscription reads "2 000 000 КАРБОВАНЦІВ".

Above the flame are the dates 1896-1996, the emblem of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, and the inscription "100-РІЧЧЯ ОЛІМПІЙСЬКИХ ІГОР СУЧАСНОСТІ" with laurel leaves below. The coin's background features lines symbolizing stadium tracks.
