Each coin's obverse shows a bird's-eye view of a shining lake, with the surrounding landscape of Lake Maggiore or Lake Lugano depicted in contour lines. The lake's name in cursive script adorns the Ticino scene.

The reverse of each "Swiss lakes" coin features a graphic symbolizing Switzerland as Europe's water tower, surrounded by the CHF 20 face value, "CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA," the year 2025, and the Swissmint mark "B."
