In December 1991, Sri Lanka's Central Bank issued two commemorative coins for the SAF Games V: a 500-rupee gold proof coin and a 100-rupee silver proof coin. Both feature Kuvera, the crowned God of Wealth, seated in a dhoti. He holds a vase of plenty in his left hand, with a lamp and fire altar on either side. The coin's beaded edge has 91 beads for the year. "Sri Lanka" appears in Sinhala at the top, and in Tamil and English on the sides.
