The design features the Hebrew word "Shalom," with the right stem of its first letter, "Shin," forming three branches of a Menorah. The face value ("10 Israeli Lirot" or "100 Israeli Lirot") appears along the top border, and the mint year 5729-1969 is engraved along the bottom in Hebrew and English.
Centered, stylized letters form a monument with the verse "And no-one knew his burial place" (Deuteronomy 34:6). Below right, a steel helmet with netting holds an olive sapling. "Israel" appears below in Hebrew, with Arabic and English around the upper border.
